Paranormal investigation is the study of what is beyond scientific explanation.  In other words, it is the science of trying to offer an explanation or seek discovery of other energies present in our universe.  To do so one must keep an open mind and be willing to embrace the energies they may come across.

There are several methods used to detect paranormal activity.  These techniques range from sound captivation and energy readers to night vision cameras and photographs.  Measuring for sound means searching for what is call an EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomenon.  EVP's usually are measured with a microphone recording that picks up phenomenon that might not be heard until replayed and broken down for the listener.  One may hear anything from short sounds to actual phrases.

Energy meters such as K2 and Mel Meters, are also used to pick up Electromagnetic Energy as well as monitor temperature.  While one gives you a variance of lights the other produces the energy into numbers so that it may be measured from area to area.  It is important to utilize both as some forms of energy will spike one device and not the other. 

Finally, is the use of night vision security as well as film cameras.  This provides researchers with hard copy visual evidence to present the client.  It also allows for better data logging as more than one area can be investigated at a time.  The more evidence provided means more conclusive results.

Because this type of study is not 100% conclusive it is important to analyze the results to the best of your ability to be certain of what you are presenting to your clients.  Our group goes over evidence again and again to break it down in its most simplist form.  EVP's are played over and over again each time being flushed of background noises to really hone in on the actual sounds.  Video is watched relentlessly by multiple viewers to gain conclusions.  It is important to not let the mind play tricks or to see and hear what you want especially when hired to present acurate and true fact.  Tihs is also why using energy meters is important as they can help confirm presences heard or seen.  It is recommended that meter readings be taped or photographed so that they may be time stamped and compared to the rest of the evidence.
